Every day I talk with people who tell me they have been wanting to come to therapy for months (or even YEARS!) and they just kept putting it off! There is never enough time, never enough of a reason why, and they want to be able to figure things out on their own.
I understand that. Really- I do. But you should not have to do it alone! Putting off your healing only means wasting time not living free. Not living life being the person you know you were created to be! Don't put it off one more day. Let's get started! |
In 2022 We are going to GROW and GLOW! A message from Julie Hilton, Therapist |
No one is harder on yourself than you are.The criticisms you have of yourself seem never ending! A hundred times a day you think:
"I should be able to balance all of these things. Everyone else can!" "Why am I so far off of the timeline that everyone else seems to be on?" "Why can't I just be happy? What do I even have to complain about?" "It's my fault we're always fighting. I just need to do better to make him/her happy." This isn't how you envisioned your life being.Don't get me wrong, there are times that you do seem happy- it's not all bad. There are days you even feel you can love yourself. But the overwhelming feeling that something needs to be different, something is missing- it just keeps eating away at you. The idea of living the rest of your life this way is daunting.

Working with a therapist can help!If any of this resonates with you, then you have come to the right place! I can help.
I want you to know that I SEE YOU, I hear you, and there is hope for change. I know what it takes to break this toxic cycle that is smothering your ability to be happy and truly love yourself. Therapy is the place to find yourself and discover that you are worth so much more. This isn’t who God created you to be and deep down you know that. Whether counseling is new to you or if you’ve tried and had little success in the past- now is the time to make the investment in yourself. I work with women and men to shed those expectations that are so unfulfilling. Together, we release painful things from the past that have told you who you are, and we re-write your story so that you are in control of your future. Building confidence, a new sense of love for yourself, and undoubtedly knowing your worth. You deserve this. |

"Therapy, to me, is the ultimate self-care. Mani-pedis are nice, but they don't last. Therapy offers you the chance to change the trajectory of your entire future."

Can Losing Weight (or the desire to lose weight) ever NOT be bad for your mental health??Summertime is approaching and that means diet culture is running wild...but so is the shaming of people who want to change their body. Can there EVER be a balance that isn't bad for your mental health?
