Frequently Asked Questions
Most people have plenty of questions in regards to starting therapy and it's important that you ask them before getting started! That is why I offer a free phone consultation so that I can answer any questions you might have. You can also email questions to [email protected] if that feels more comfortable.
Here are a list of questions that I often get asked by potential clients and I'm happy to expand on them as well during our call:

Do you take insurance?
I am Out-of-Network with insurance, however many plans offer OON benefits that you will be able to access for reimbursement. I can provide you with a Superbill to submit to your insurance on your request.
What can i expect at an initial assessment?
At your initial appointment, you can share whatever you are ready to share. I will not push you to talk about anything you are not ready to disclose. I will ask what brought you in, what your everyday life is like, family history, and about any counseling or mental health services you have received previously. We will talk about what is important for you to achieve in counseling and make sure you feel that I am a good fit to be your therapist. There will be plenty of time for you to ask questions here as well.
What is emdr and is that the only type of therapy you provide?
EMDR is a very powerful modality that I personally love using with the majority of my clients. You can read more about it here. I have seen some really beautiful stories of growth and am proud of the progress that many of my clients have made with it. However, it does not have to be the modality that we use if you do not think it's right for you. I also use a combination of CBT, mindfulness, and Internal Family Systems. I will always include you in your treatment planning, so we will revisit what best fits your needs throughout treatment.
what is telehealth and who can use it?
For some people, coming into my office just isn't an option. That could be due to time constraints, location, and transportation issues. No worries! I can provide Telehealth as long as you are a resident of Georgia or Florida. It's SO simple and easy to use. There are also studies that show Telehealth is just as effective as in-person therapy, so you will still get great results.
We will use a HIPAA compliant platform to video chat for our session. This can even be done from your smart phone during your lunch break. I want to make sure everyone has access to the care they need, regardless of how far you are from me or how busy your schedule is.

I like your approach, but I'm not a christian. Could we still be a good fit?
Absolutely! I bring faith into session ONLY at your request. My faith allows me to see everyone as worthy of being loved and valued, but I promise I am not a "pushy Christian" : ) I do not prioritize my values over yours!
What states are you licensed in?
I hold an active LCSW license in the states of Georgia and Florida.
What are your fees?
Cost of therapy depends on what type of session you book with me. Click here to see the breakdown of my fees.
